About Me and My Work
The imagery I use and the philosophical basis for my work draws on my Indian-American background and 5 years working intensively with Buddhist sacred art, a tradition which emphasizes self-study and developing understanding of mind.
The allure of art for me is in how it seems to reveal an underlying magic in all life by framing it, pointing to it. In my work, I aim to take apart or examine fundamental building blocks of experience, working my way into that unknown, wordless space through re-framing assumptions, and exploring hidden processes of the mind as well as our outer experience.
I want my art to create circumstances for people to look critically and objectively into the hidden sides of their own lives and daily experience, or to create a space to transcend the ordinary rattling of mind.
